I have some questions about ultrarunning, which I REALLY want to get into (after I qualify for Boston, of course)! Mainly, how is the training different from marathon training? How many miles do you get up to if you're running, say a 50 miler? How much harder is it to run trails if you're used to running roads (hilly roads, though)? Do you have to do a lot of training on trails, or could you theoretically train on roads for a trail race?
Looking forward to hearing your answers!
